Ned Kelly has been a household name in Australia for over a 100 years and his legacy lives on till this day. Many places have been turned into public memorial places, such as the Old Melbourne Gaol, where Ned Kelly was hanged in 1880. His well-known revolver is on display in this building. It also gives an insight of where he was hanged, before his legacy begun.

Also, a gaol in Glenrowan, Victoria has been changed into a museum named "Ned Kelly Museum", which contains many artifacts and weapons used by him and his gang. He has also made himself into popular culture with various movies of him and his history. Namely "The Story of the Kelly Gang", "The Kelly Gang", "A Message to Kelly", "Reckless Kelly", and 2003 film "Ned Kelly" starring the late Heath Ledger and Orlando Bloom.

A number of artists have also made songs about him. A number of authors have wrote books about him, such as "True History of the Kelly Gang" written by Peter Carey, and won numerous awards.. There is also a stamp produced by Australia Post featuring Ned Kelly. Ned Kelly has also been portrayed and featured in numerous advertisements. There has also been a series of paintings painted by Sidney Nolan, depicting Ned Kelly is numerous situations, but always in his famous armour suit worn at the siege at Glenrowan.
