Ned Kelly's acts has gone unto making him the most famous Bushranger in Australian history. People have seen him to be the Australian "Robin Hood". After his death, the Victorian Police Force made many changes to the policing in the colony.

In his lifetime he has managed to stand up for the poor people who were constantly treated unfairly by the higher class of society. This have made many people of the poorer class admire him, this is proven by the 32,000 people who signed a petition to the Victorian Government against his hanging. In his "Jerilderie Letter", he states his love for the poor and persecuted, which also supports that he isn't a merciless bushranger. He proves this love also, by burning mortgage deeds of the poor people at local banks.
